Loving Dusk And Summer

Dusk and Summer. The fourth studio album of the Dashboard Confessionals is one of the albums that I’ve listened without skipping a song. And because my attention span only lasts for like 30 seconds whenever I’m doing something I’m not interested, so listening the whole album again and again says everything about the album.

Dusk and Summer. It’s poetic and unpretentious. But I’m not a big fan of the album cover. They could have done more. Still, it’s all about the lyrics and the music.

Here’s the track list of the album with my favorite lines from each songs.

TRACK 1: Don’t Wait

The sky glows
I see it shining when my eyes close

TRACK 2: Reason To Believe

Just one more breath, I beg you please
Just one more step, my knees are weak
My heart is sturdy but it needs you to survive
My heart is sturdy but it needs you

TRACK 3: Secret’s In The Telling

We pass just close enough to touch
We love in secret names
We hide in our veins

TRACK 4: Stolen

You have stolen my heart

TRACK 5: Rooftops And Invitations

She just might get you lost
And she just might leave you torn
But she just might save your soul

TRACK 6: So Long, So Long

How the girls can turn to ghosts before your eyes
And the very dreams that led to them are keeping them from dying

TRACK 7: Currents

If it is born in flames then we should let it burn
Burn as brightly as we can
And if it’s going to end then let it end in flames
Let it burn all the way down

TRACK 8: Slow Decay

And I’m here alive
With satellites
And Friday nights
And no one to judge me

TRACK 9: Dusk And Summer

But you’ve already lost when you only have barely enough to hang on

TRACK 10: Heaven Here

We are still dreamers in our dead sleep
Naked and tangled
Twisted and loving tonight
We are the only ones who feel it
So let it last all night
